Radar Detectors

I'm not sure where I should ask this question, so I decided the general truck section. Anyways, just curious about radar detectors. Does anyone here use them or have any recommendations as to which ones are good?

i've used them in the past, but they aren't legal in ontario. the police have some device that can tell if certain types are being used and you get it confiscated and a nice fine if caught. they really aren't worth the money or hastle unless your doing the gumball or something.

I have an Escort 8500 X50 and it works great. I've had it for about a month now. From what I've heard/seen its one of the best on the market. I picked one up cause I do a lot of highway driving and tend to have a bit of a heavy foot.

I have the same on mine is blue display.
Works everytime on the highway with plenty warning.
I think i want to sell this one and get the new Escort 9500 that has GPS built in so it knows everytime i you pass a store that makes it go off and you can tell it to cancel out that signal so no false beeps,

From what i have researched over the years.

I have an older Escort 8500 and it works like a hotdamn. I use it because we're always tearing around Dukes of Hazzard style around here and there is the occasional cop around. Gets lots of false beeps but you get used to it, auto mute helps too. LR
