Well looks like Ford may have to shell out some cash if the NHTSB has its way.

http://www.examiner.com/autos-in-det...-recall-coming

I called Ford Canada today and they said there is no recall at this time. But if they do have the recall and you've already paid to have it fixed, you take your receipts to a local Ford dealer, they inspect the repair to certify it was done correctly, they then submit your receipts to the proper department at Ford and you get reimbursed.

So hold on to those receipts ppl.

Funny, when I sold my old 98 a few yrs ago to a friend, when he had it safetied the fuel tank strap was hanging on for dear life.

It's all about the boost!

You might hate this, but, periodic inspection of tank straps is essential. Don't really think Ford should be held responsible for this unless they used cheaper, thinner metal than what should call for. Best suggestion is to fabricate stainless steel straps, rods, and nuts. This is what should have been done since the beginning, circa 1920's.

Well full blown canadian recall now, there are 3 types of fixes depends on how bad they are : temporary, a reinforcement kit or new straps depends on condition of straps.
