Just picked up (through my work as a trade in) a 2000 F150, XLT 4x4 Supercab shortbox 7700 GVW package.
I picked it up for a real reasonable price too. $3000 (mechanics special)
It has 233,000 kms on the clock, it has been abused a little bit, it was owned by a farmer just east of where I live.
Body is in decent shape, some surface rust starting where rocks have chipped away the paint, and some scratches, virtually no dents tho....
Interior is decent, some stains and some cigarette burns, but nothing that cannot be repaired.
Mechanically it has some flaws, but that is why I am a mechanic. Overall, it's decent, eng seems in good health, will need a tune up soon, needs most all the fluids changed, trans seems to shift ok (4R100) it needs a desperate flush tho... Front end is fairly tight, some minor play in both lower ball joints and minor movement in the idler arm but well within specs set out by Ford and provincial inspection standards, power steering pressure line leaks (being replaced tomorrow). Gas tank does have a minor seepage problem, will eventually replace the tank once I get some more coin, but for now I will do a temp repair patch called seal-all and rag. R/S CV boot is broken at top of boot. ABS light is on, scanned codes, found a motor open code, looked and found the ABS motor disconnected, plugged it in and the motor ran constantly, needs a new module. Fixed the wipers not working, found a broken wire at the multi-disfunctional switch, repaired that wire. Just minor things that needed to be done. All in all tho, it's fairly tight.
Now on to some pics.
