Autowreckers

Hi all I want to start a thread for people to post up where they've had good luck finding part for their Fords. Unfortunately I don't have one to start with I hit 15 autowreckers today 4 or 5 were closed, (makes sense to me to be closed on saturday alot of people don't have time to go during the week). Out of the rest of them not one had a ranger newer than 95. The only one who said he had some 01+Rangers said he crushed them all last weekend, freaking moron!

The GM and truck yard at Bucks Auto is filled with Fords.
If you need specific parts or are rebuilding, doing a change over, it might be best to go to the autopac auction every Wednesday(PLESSIS RD, wpg mb). You can even browse online through the results for auctions past to get an idea of what kind of pricing goes on. I have found the second total loss vehicles to be some of the best pricing and in the best condition as they can never be registered again. For the price your going to pay used, the time it takes to search, you get the whole vehicle. Take what you want and sell the rest in the buy and sell or used sites online. It will pay for itself and make a couple extra dolleeros. It might be worth looking into. At the very least, kill some time daydreaming of the possibilities. You might even make some connections and surely gain some useful knowledge.
Check it out, let us know what you think.

I keep a very close eye on the MPI listing and there hasn't been much in there, most of the fords are being sold as salvagable. and I think 3 to 4 thousand is far to much for a write off.

I was at the Eriksdale autowrecker on Saturday (About 100 miles north of Wpg on Hwy 6). It was a ranger grave yard for gen 2 rangers with one gen 3 ranger. There were also F-150 up the wazzoo.

I hope to hit B&B autowreckers in St laurent (Approx. 40 miles north on Hwy 6), sometime in the next 3 weeks and I'll let you know what is there.

if you don't mind taking a road trip, Wesman Salvage in Brandon is one of the bigger ones.
