Post New / Old Truck

I finally bought a truck to drive in the winter.
It's a 1999 f150 (pics in my album). I bought as is so I have to
find a garage to do the safety and e-test. It has a 140.000 km on it.
It runs and drives well . I will have to replace the winshield (cracked)
Hopfully I can get it done while I am home on holiday's. I have been
working in Ottawa and Kingston for the past 10 months and putting
a 1000 clicks per week on my 09. If any body in the mississauga area
knows a tech that can do a safety please let me know. I don't want
something for nothing . I just don't want to pay for things I don't
need.

I worked out in kingston and Ottawa for the past 10 months and last winter was not
nice to the truck . Road salt and sand from last winter, I still see sand seeping out from
time to time when I wash it. The wind shield is chipped and pitted and needs to be replaced
and at nearly 1000 km a week the truck would be a mess in less than two years. Not what I had in mind for this one when I bought it . The 99 has a 4.2 litre v-6 w/ 140000 km on it . One owner from new . Plenty of service records a/c ,tilt , 6 disc cd player, good michelin all season radials ford toneau cover, hitch, crome wheels. A little rust on the bottom of he doors and tail gate . Clean and dry on the under side no visable leaks. Had the wind shield replaced today so hopfully I can get the safety and e test done by the weeks end and have it ready to go when I return to work next week.

I got the truck in to be certified and e-tested on friday and it did not do so bad. I had to replace the ball joints and an idler arm in the front end and it passed the e-test with good
numbers and I will have to replace the cracked mirror on the drivers door.
One thing the tech mentioned to me was rusted brake lines. There is nothing leaking but I
should keep an eye on them and maybe replace in the near future. So I did some on line
checking on this trying to get a diagram and info on these but could not fine much.
I any one here has any information or experiance on replacing these lines pls post it
up on the board . Any and all Imput is appreciated.

Larry
