How to figure out what my truck is worth?

Hey Guy's I have a question ... I am considering putting my truck up for sale.

I've had a look at what others are asking with comparable milage but prices are

all over the map and so far I have not seen one that has any modifications or

add on's like mine not that I expected to . So is there a safe way to have your

vehicle appraised so as to put a fare price on it with out giving it away .

Let me know your thoughts . Thanks for your input and suggestions

I'm going to try an answer this and give my two cents without sounding like an ass-hat Larry.

It's only worth what someone's willing to pay, and I'll guarantee it's not worth what you put into it.

Mods mean little to someone who has no idea what they're getting, just like mods mean nothing to a dealership trade in.

( Which is why I kept everything I could use off the Raptor incidentally...it meant nothing to the bottom line dollar wise on the trade in)

Trying to assign a value is fickle at the best of times, and there's often the trade off between pricing it to move and pricing it to what you see as fair, and having it sit in the driveway.

If it's not a panic sale, set your price and tell the low ballers to waste someone elses time, because there's always those cheap bastards that want you to just give it to them. Then, of course, when they rape you for it, it's suddenly worth twice what they paid for it. That shit irks the hell out of me.

Set a price you think is fair, not what anyone else thinks is fair, and then judge things from there.

Ideally, you need to find someone who will appreciate what they're getting, and be willing to pay a fair price for it.

Hope that helps, good luck, sorry to hear you're thinking of selling, but I understand completely.

I was in the same boat with my Mustang GT, and the Raptor.

Thanks Mike ... Asked and Answered . All points valid and what I have thought myself .

As for being sorry about the thought of selling ( and for now that is all it is ) don't be .

I ordered it new in 09 and have enjoyed every minute of making it mine . There is no

rush to sell it so I may just put it away for the winter and see how I feel in the spring .

If you list it on the autotrader they have a tool to find the average value of trucks from your year. Hitting up http://www.canadianblackbook.com/use...FbBDMgodvxgAxw can get you an idea too of what its value is.

Unfortunately mods don't get you much ROI. Its always a little shocking when you find out what the true value of your vehicle is after paying so much more for it.

Here's how much your truck is worth...The number of years of enjoyment you can actually wring out of it. Try driving it a little longer. If you don't enjoy driving it anymore, then get rid of it at any price.

Hmmm, I didn't know that. Apparently there is nothing older than 01 on the road?
