New Shop

Well since we finally started to make progress on the shop I thought I'd post pictures of where we are right now. It's going to be 35'x35' with just under 11' high outside walls. Should be the perfect size for all my crap to fit into.

When we started to dig.

After getting all dug out and trench made for the footings and foundation walls.

Footings poured.

As it sits now until we start the framing for the rest of the wall height.

I have some pictures of when the forms and everything were up aswell but they are on the computer somewhere when I find them I'll put them in the album.

lol first pic….can't tell if it's a Bassett or a Beagle, but how long did it take him to dig out the foundation ??

Our beagle does regular excavating in the backyard, drove him crazy when we had a bunny under our ground level deck, dug the shit out of it.

Awesome project, I'm betting after you're done you'll still be wishing it was bigger!!

He's a Bassett. He does lots of digging around here aswell. I know I'm already thinking that its too small. By the time the trucks, motorcycles, tractors and tools go in I'm sure I'll be looking for more space. The one good thing is my bronco and moms car will fit in one bay infront of each other.

looks like a 3 car garage as far as the local government is involved.

seriuosly looks awesome so far. plain old rafters in the roof, or gambrel for the attic storage space?

one project in there and tools/parts there goes half the space.

spring will feel like a long time coming to finish it

That's exact it. This was as large as we could go with city bylaws. Also went as high as we could but are using preformed gable trusses with a single peak in the middle of the center bay that way If we need to after everyone has disappeared and the city isn't watching I can put a 12 foot door in the center for the hoist. Right now the doors are only allowed to be 10 wide and 9 high with 10'6" wall heights. If need be I will lift the roof in a few years and add a couple feet in to get the interior space that I would really like to have for the hoist.

As of right now it's on hold until we get all the storm damage fixed. We have had no power since Saturday and it won't be on until Wednesday evening at the earliest. We had a lot of ice and trees coming down on the power lines and the house. Luckily we had the gravel in the floor and were parked in it because the bronco and my moms focus would have been wrecked from the trees falling. The shop is the only spot in the whole yard that has no trees on it.
