New job in March

Well I'm starting March 10 or sooner. %10 increase in pay with a full benefit package, and company pension coming in the future if all goes well.

we haven't bought a new place but now we have a stepping stone.

75km one way but an easy commute compared to going into the GTA.

all the places we have been looking at are within about 40km from this shop so its a good move.

gonna be hard to break it to my present boss, he had trouble even finding an apprentice, and the apprentice is pretty well useless. I've been there almost 11 yrs running afternoon shift.

my new employer would start me today if I was available immediately.

cheers James

close to wingham, and within around 30-40km of all the places we have been looking at. so the boss(MRS) is pretty happy too.

today at work went pretty well, my boss didn't freak on me or anything. he's a pretty good guy, an old pervert (72)but a good guy regardless

the boss' wife(60 I think) is in a couple days a week and always makes a big crockpot full of some homemade soup or chili or something equally yummie for the guys in the shop. she is a very nice lady and we actually asked her to be godmother for our kids for their baptism when we moved them to the catholic school.

i'm feeling a little bit of guilt on being the first to jump off of the sinking ship, but i'm thinking of my family's future and this is a good move not just financially.

coworker brought in some homemade wine tonite and our productivity dropped drastically. we were no too busy so all the work got done anyway.

my sister inlaw and her bizarre kids dropped in at home out of the blue and wanted to know about my job interview and why i wanted to travel so far. my wife told her "we are moving this year" . the SIL started ranting about US having to compromise to make things work out. WTF?
my wife held her tongue and slowly escorted her to the door, and tonite when we had our good nite songs to the kids at bedtime, she asked if we could just give the people the asking price on the house we had made an offer on. She was pissed off, thankfully not at me..................

i'm thinking a move will be coming soon

cheers James

stay tuned this could get interesting.

thats what I was thinking, and i've had enough bad shite happen last year i'm due for some good karma.

if we get a big enough place maybe i can host a Fordtough meet in the next year, but it might throw me into a different region? I'm definitely not giving up my first love. downsize yes.

Well for the most part, everything looks like it's going good.

Sometimes there is bumps in the road and you gotta take them with the smooth sections.

As long as they know it's for the future of your family, they can't hold it against you. Sometimes love is better further apart then closer together.

My parents had to do that when we were young. My mom worked for my grandfathers business. My dad got a good job. He commuted for year and a half while the house was for sale. Then left the little town she had known her whole life.
We moved about an hour away. (Dutton/Wallacetown -> Tillsonburg)

You gotta do what you gotta do. It's for your family not theirs.
