Belwood man critically injured by truck tire in WV

Good friend of mine who donated his bobcat and a lot of his spare time to my fire cleanup last year had a truck tire come through his windshield down in WV. he is in a medical induced coma, head and facial injuried ,possible brain injury. his wife was in the passenger seat, not critically injured . he was airlifted to hospital. they were on their way home from Florida after visiting her parents. their teenage kids were at home at the time with their aunt.

why is good news followed by bad so often?

here is a news clip form the local news in WV.

I was best man at his wedding right here in winterbourne.

shit happens

feel free to say a prayer for him and his family.

Sorry to hear the news James, random events like that are a tough thing to get your head around.

All the best for a positive outcome, hope your friend is healing up back in Canada….soon.

Sorry to hear James.

I think it's a way of someone telling us that anything can happen.

Our prayers go out to his family and yours. Hope they are on their way home soon.

1st update from his teenage daughter this morning through Facebook, he has no more swelling of his brain but has a bleed that they are watching that seems to be clotting. that is good news, he will be kept in a drug induced coma for a while.
if progress continues , they suggested he could be ready to move Ontario in maybe 3 weeks.

it sounds like we won't be able to recognize him now, pretty well his whole bonestructure of his head/face is broken.

his wife in the passenger seat was the caller to 911. she is a strong little woman , she will need to be now . their kids are coming home on sunday so things must be stabalized.

Graham is a Mechanic at the City of Guelph, I think he has a good health and travel insurance plan through work.

not a good sleep last night, and I'm not usually up at 7 am.

prepare for the worst, hope for the best
cheers James

More good news, they reduced his sedation today enough that he could communicate with hand gestures. then put him back under. time will tell, with a brain injury but that is some really good news early on.

the story was on CKCO TV kitchener news at 6pm as the top story so it will probably on at 11:30 again. I know its channel 13 local here but not sure of any cable or sattelite .

sounds like his wife grabbed the steering wheel and steered the car off into the centre median, she kept her cool under extreme circumstances. Pig farmers daughter with a lot of uncommon sense.
she is a hero for sure. saved more lives than her own, other cars right close when it happened.

he has more broken bones than just his face and head, nobody is talking about that part.

tommorrow is another day above ground

well he is aware of what is happening according to his daughter. they did more tests on him today and his heart and lungs are ok, thats all they said. Monday they are going in and installing a "clot filter" . and wednesday they are going to start working on his jaw and facial structure. he is a big mess but he gave a thumbs up when they talked to him semi-concious, so at least his ears are working.

definitely positive movements.

Very sorry to read about the accident. Sounds like his wife and kids are just amazing. Glad he is doing better everyday. Will keep him in my prayers.
