might be developing an addiction?

Well I bought another Van today, picking up next weekend. couldn't get it to stay running but it did run. 1988 E350 DRW ambulance chassis 7.3 idi w/hypermax turbo, and unfortunately a C6 trans instead of an E4OD

I looked it over and told him I wasn't interested as it didn't have enough parts on it I needed, but made him a scrap price offer and he said OK.

he said he didn't want it to go to scrap so he would take my offer.

now I have to cut up one of my old vans before next weekend D'OH!

it is a very interesting old girl, sleeper bunch mounted on the back and a weird looking flatbed/ 5th wheel mount.

I'm very tempted to build my 89 Clubwagon diesel into a dually with the parts but? that would be different eh?

these things just seem to keep dropping into my lap

cheers James

well I checked over the trailer today and found the nuts on the axle ubolts were just about rotted away. good time to catch it, when I'll be hauling its biggest load in a while on sunday!!!!! one nut was completely gone and the Ubolt was starting to pull out through the spring plate.

thanks to a well stocked parts department all Ubolts got new grade 8 1/2" locknuts or ubolts rethreaded to 12mm and new nuts put on. my trailer brake lining is just about ready to fall off the backing so I'm running w/o trailer brakes sunday. I'll take it easy loaded

good thing the roads will be dry. I can't haul my trailer in the winter so new brakes in the spring I guess.

I can't get the pic thing going again here at all.

well I got the big old turd home

was not as heavy as I first thought, as Barney pulled it w/o any trouble.
ok maybe a little trouble on Hwy 10 north of Brampton, but no cars passed me on the multilane hills so everybody had trouble

I was looking it over and I think a standard wheelbase 75-91 clubwagon body will fit right on it. 138" is same as all the Eseries I have except for the white shorty. I'll have to do some measurements this week

well I got nothing done this week on the new van other than unload it from the trailer, and pick up a 5gallon can of diesel.

shitty weather and no dry place to work sucks. looking at the door post sticker on the "Toter" show me it has a posi rear end so I think it is a dana70 powerlock. very cool, not many posi or limited slips in vans especially dual wheels.

one of my buddys I haven't seen sicne we moved up here is coming on sunday and I was telling him about my new collection and he just kept going on and on about them. his favorites too, I guess I better sell him one of my older ones and give it a better home than scrap metal receptacle.

I think I'm goin gto have to string a tarp between trees just to find a place to work out of the rain>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>soon to be snow.
