Barney's first stuck :)

Barney's first time had to be pulled out

heading home from work at 1am, West on 87 and holy crap snow so heavy I couldn't do 20km/h. heavy snow on the road and no idea where the centre was with no tracks, putting along peeking out the window every few seconds.

felt the back end start to slide so I stayed on it and got another 300ft before I got sucked into the ditch, kept back and for5th until I got it far enough off the road I didn't need 4way flashers and I walked back to the shop trying to figure out a way to get it out. about 2km away. well holy ...... afternoon foreman hadn't gone home yet, tinkering with his car. fired up the big JD articulating loader and down we went to drag it out. pulled it out like there was nothing there. made it home in no time but really watched for snow plow banks and other signs. there had to be 15-20cm of snow on 87.

I'll have to take some pics , holy crap there is a lot of snow.
we have a 4wd explorer but its stuck in the back yard right now, might have to blow a tunnel to get it out LOL

cheers to an early winter.

Zero visibility sucks, nothing worse than having every point of reference completely removed. Saw 12 cars ditched on the drive into work , fortunately I was not one of them.

Had a guy I used to work with years ago say that with 4WD you just got stuck deeper, further away from home. lol

isn't hwy21 closed Nov-Apr every year?

you know all about zero visability eh?

4wd 1 ton diesel van would have driven through the ditch, plowed the field in 4L lift at headland then back on the road and into 4H at the next concession. LOL

cheers James

ha ha Yah, closing 21 is a regular occurrence, open fields and high winds make for zero visibility for sure.
