Annual Joint Spring GTG

Hey guys,

Been awhile since you've heard from me, but I guess having the big shop is also a curse, as I've been busy working like a dog all Winter long detailing some sweet rides.

I just wanted to see what every thinks about our annaul gtg this year.

I mentioned it to Dave when he was here about a month and a half ago and he stated it was unfair to have the gtg at my shop since most of you guys all live down Hamilton way.

I would like to know who wants to have it here and who would rather have it at the BP like we used to.

Personally it does not matter to me, but I would much rather be inside with a place to sit down for the 9 hours that everyone stayed for the last gtg, than standing in the middle of a parking lot.

Lets hear your thoughts before I post anything on all the other sites.

Hey Jim good to hear from you. I think another GTG at your place would be great . The
last one (my first ) was a good one . Looking forward to coming out again. I don't see
any reason we can't do both over the summer.

Hey Larry,

I had a great time too at the last one. I know the CTW guys want to come here and there are a few that have never seen the shop yet, so they are looking forward to it.

I promised the guys that we'd make this one on a Sunday though, as quite a few have to work on Saturdays.

Here's a beauty I just did a full concourse detail on.

Fully documented 69 Z28 Cross Ram with the JL8 factory 4 wheel disc brakes and a factory steel cross ram hood.

I'm up for another gtg at the shop. I promised to show the new g/f what our new home will look like when I win the lottery although she may have an issue with my truck in the "living room"

That's great guys.

Now to pick a date. It can be on Sunday May 2nd or Sunday May 16th as the 9th is Mother's Day, so that won't work.

I will post threads on all the sites and see what everyone thinks.

Since all of the sites are pretty dead, maybe some of you can email the other members you think may be interested in coming and let them know about the gtg and the thread.

Paul, the crossram consisted of 2 600 cfm Holley's on a custom 2 piece intake manifold on the 302 block. They also came with an off road cam that turns that little 302 into a complete MONSTER that will rev to 7200 rpm's. They were specially built by the factory and sold to the public, so GM could qualify the car to run in the Trans Am series. They could not legally install the intake and cam on the car in the factory, so it arrived at the dealer with the entire setup in the trunk of the car and then installed by them. They only built 52 cross rams with the JL8 4 wheel disc brakes and only 9 with the steel cross ram hood. All other cross ram cars had a fiberglass hood.

You can see that the hood has the oval cutout to seal up with the foam on the oval air cleaner.

Garage
I wouldn't mind going on a Sunday. I'd like to check out things to give me some ideas for my truck.

Cross-ram looks like the predecessor of the cross-fire injection that they put in the late 80's corvettes. Bet the cross-ram goes faster though.
