Logging in steady

Just wondering why, I have to log in again when I stop to go get a coffee, or when I want to post a reply or when I want to start a new thread, or look some threads.
I have tried to responed to posts in the past and by the time I type and send I loose it and have to login again.
I don't know if this makes any sense, but it drives me nutz's.
