I've had one of the Karcher X-series 1800psi electric units for a couple years now, and it does the trick. It is always stored inside, so I never forget to bring it in if it goes below freezing in the spring/fall. I've been careful with the unit and the wand/hose as they're obviously residential-grade, but it hasn't given me any trouble yet. I try to avoid frequent start/stop, keeping the trigger on as often as I can manage when I'm using it.

Must be 6 years ago that a purchased a "cheap" electric pressure washer from CTC. It's a JobMate 1500 and I think it was on sale for. $59.99. Kind of one of the CTC impulse buys but figured for that money I'd find a use for it.

As it turns out, I use it every year to clean my driveway, revitalize the decking on my decks, and clean the dirt and grime off my vinyl siding on the house. Works great for those tasks. The only negative might be the flimsy and fast emptying soap canister that connects to the wand. It's never been exposed to the cold either. Always stored in heated workshop.

Your choice will have to depend on your needs and preferences I guess.

I bought a gas powered one at Canadian Tire last year. I picked it largely based on the Honda engine. However, if I could do it again I'd buy one with a soap reservoir. Currently it has a hose that goes to the soap jug, but I keep tipping the soap over. I probably spilled more than I used. Is super annoying. Glad to have the gas power after hitting the trails etc. Unfortunately, it IS loud though
