ESOF help needed

I have a 2007 F350. The ESOF started to act up one morning, it said I was in 4wd but I wasn't. Drove a little ways and then there was a whining sound and then a clunk, sounded like it was the transfer case, but it still drove normally. I stopped and tried to put it in 4low and it went in but wouldn't come out of 4low. I shut the truck off and started it and played with the selector and jerked between forward and reverse and it finally went into 2WD. I changed the shift motor on the transfer case same problem, no light on the selector at all and won't shift. Checked all the fuses and relays they are all good. I checked for power at the transfer case shift motor and there is none. The information I have found is very confusing as with regards to the SJB or Gem module. Does a SJB have any connection to the ESOF or only if you have Gem module. Any information would be of great help.

First I've heard of "SJB". Do you know what it means?

Not possible! It's automotive, so it would be Stupid Junction Block/Box.

Now I have also replaced the dash switch and it also has made no difference. I may need to bite the bullet on this one and take it to the " STEALER" I mean dealer to have it repaired. I have one more trick up my sleeve I will try when I get back from work next week. Still would appreciate any info or other stories about similar problems.

I believe the F350 esof uses an iwe solenoid like the F150 does. If this solenoid is screwed you will have no 4x4 lights show up on switch and I don't think you will get power to the tcm either. Cheap fix depending on where you but the solenoid from. $20 to $40.
I could be wrong but worth a try.

Such is life. Just passing through.
