tranny

Hi folks ,not too sure if this is the right place to post this.My dad has a 00 F150, he was stuck earlier this winter and blew all forward gears in his tranny. My question is where can I find out what tranny this truck has so I can look for a used one to replace it with.. "00 F150,4.6, 2 weel drive..Thanks in advance. Also would anyone have one for sale?

You can look up the code here on our site.

Just look at the sticker on the door frame of the drivers door. You should see a big sticker like the one shown in the above thread. The 10th digit is the tranny code. Most likely its a U which means its the 4R70W 4spd auto w/overdrive.

If its an automatic its a good bet is the 4R70W.
