i own a 07 f150 supercrew 4x4 and am tired of the garbage axles under it!!!! i was woundering if any one has heard of a company that might make a kit for a sraight axle swap. any help would be great. thanks stuik
whatdon't you like about them? the rear should be the 9.75" which is comparible to a dana 60. plenty strong for a 1/2 ton. i believe the front is a 8.8 which is strong in my books. running 33's on mine with no problems. why would you want to remove a smooth riding ifs in the front and put in a solid axle? just wondering.

Buy 3/4 ton.
i m running 35 x 13.50 baja claws and managed to blow the front axle then 3 months later i blew the rear (8.8 in models without stock tow package or 5.4l) and am now thinking that i should just build the truck i really want with modern style and comfort. that and the ifs sucks any time i go off road( every day or two) it needs anouther allignment. i made a design that i think i might build and put 1 ton axles(spicer 50 out of new f350 and a sterling 10.25full posi) with 4.10 gears and 38" tires. i will even be able to have the stock spring rate.
What about just going to a F-250 setup? Wouldnt that be strong enough?

i do alot of bush roads for hunting, bogging and trails with a bit of rock crawling. i also like the f150 looks more than that of the f350. the straight axle swap would be better for the type of use and abuse that i would put it through.

stuik, you might want to give these guy's a call they know thier stuff and might be able to help you out http://www.trucktoyzperformance.com/...side_index.htm
i dont know about the f150's but i know its somewhat common for ford ranger owners to swap in dana 44 or even 60 solid axles in the front (and rear for that matter) for real offroading or for v8/diesel swaps. i think its largely a custom job though.
