Thinking about getting an Aussie locker now.

Been reading about them and they sound like what I would like.

Anybody have one, (Aussie locker)?

Anybody in Canada sell them? I may try Okanagan Truck Performance and see if they carry them, but would like to find a dealer in BC if there is one.

Ironically I'm on the same hunt right now.

You're thinking for your front end right? As far as I know they don't make one for the rear (unless you have the 31 spl axle).

I drive past Okanagan Truck Performance everyday, I've been meaning to to pop in for a few days. If I get a chance I'll swing in there today and post back if I get results.....

OKTP can get the Aussies for a D35 IFS set-up for $410.00 and the powertrax rear for $570.00

Truckworks up the road won't order Aussie's-they feel the Powertrax is a much stronger unit. The powertrax for the front is $475.61 and $571.13 for the rear.

Those are of course all in Kelowna. I'd be happy to help help you with getting to Vic from here if you like (drop them off at greyhound, or I could send them to Langley free if you pick up there).

Well I was hoping an Aussie for the back then switch it to the front when I got another locker for the rear. I was on Aussie's web site and saw they make one for 27 spline but that must be a printing error. I haven't heard of a 27 spline ford rear end but I could be wrong about that. I did email them about that but haven't heard back yet.

Gimme a couple of days to think about it, $410 seems steep especially when they are listed for $249, even with shipping and all from Aussie itself I think mike be cheaper. I gotta get more info before I decide.

Thanks for the input, good stuff to know.

Its gotta be a misprint, far as I know the 8.8" rears only come in 28 or 31 spline.

For the Aussie listed at 249.00 USD=
$320.00 CAD
$70.00 Shipping (estimate)
$40.00 Brokerage (estimate)
-------
$430.00

It's most likely actually cheaper to buy it locally and you keep your $$$ in Canada....

Well got a reply from Aussie. They don't make the 8.8 in 28 spline, only in 31.

I'll pass up on the offer Chris as you can see, guess I'll go with plan A, True Trac.

Thanks anyway.

couldn't you just swap axles and put in 31 splines?

I could but I won't push things too far as my truck is brand new, not even 4000km on her and under warranty. Looking at my options here and I like what I've heard about the True trac locker.
I may just wait a bit longer, maybe I'll find a good deal somewhere along the line.
