Torque Convertor Question

what would cause a convertor to not release from the tranny. Seems like it's seized on. Also when I spin the convertor it makes a grinding noise

yikes, is this the aod you were talkin about? there are a few things that could spin and weld up. maybe the pump gears weren't indexed to the convertor at install? maybe the stator shaft on the pump stripped? either way, it's dumped.
