Example 295/75/R16. Metric tire sizes, The first number(295) is the width of the tire in Millimeters, to convert it to inches simply divide it by 25.4 (cause 1"is Equals 25.4 mm) so the width is 11.6" wide, the next number (75)is the percentage of the width that is the height (so 75% of 295 is the sidewall height) so multiply 11.6" by .75 to get the sidewall height which is 8.6, now multiply that times 2 since there is two sidewalls and add the height of the rim.
Example:
!!!Width/25.4 x Side wall% x 2 + Rim= Total height!!!
275/45/R20
(10.83"wide/4.87"side wall/29.74" or 29 3/4" total height
Example:
!!!Width/25.4 x Side wall% x 2 + Rim= Total height!!!
275/45/R20
(10.83"wide/4.87"side wall/29.74" or 29 3/4" total height
