Start engine button

i've been kinda jealous of the guys with one, like the S2000 one, or the one from the GT-40...so i figured i'd put one in, cost me 20 bucks and a couple hours because im a perfectionist.

soldering these wires was such a PITA because i had to do them with the button already installed. but i put some liquid rubber electrical tape on them, works AMAZING

Finished product

Nice Job!

I was thinking about doing that, MartyF150XTR installed one on his old beater Dodge a while back in our high school days.

you still need to use the key right?
then you would need both arms on the passenger side of the wheel?
i like the big red one on the SRT ram and viper

i can use the key or the button. all the button does is take place of that extra little bit you have to turn the key to get the motor to turn over. i just turn the key to "on" where everythings activated and push the button, i love it!

Do you have a normal key or is it programmed with a chip?

it has a chip in it, i cant start my car without the key. i was going to get a GT-40 start button, but they want like $140 for it, and it doesnt even light up. seeing a red dot with a silver ring doesn't appeal to me, especially if its only during the day when you can see it lol.

The red button in the pic above lights up the letters "ENGINE START" you can even tap into your dimmer switch, if I get one it will be the red one with engine start. it also is made to fit into a cigarette lighter hole if you want.
