funky dash problem

Anyone have a 09 f150 super cab 4x4 with a blinking dash panel?

I was in the truck the other night, foot on the brake at dusk, fully stopped, while sitting at a takeout wicket window.

Order came, foot still on brake truck in drive, twisted the headlight knob to full on, and it was light christmas night...blink blink blink....

turned the knob off and on must of been 15 times, waiting a few seconds between knob twists.... then put the truck in park, tried it again, then down in Drive again...and tried it a few more times, and viola... it finally worked.

The young girl in the window was blown away, she nor I never saw anything like it before.... truck got 1000k on it. ???

every light in the dash was blinking.. the head lights did come on and off each twist of the knob...

Was a cold winter night, everything from the radio to 4x4 was working.. no service lights or codes to report..

I believe that is the new "Check your change, she just shorted you $10" indicator . Sorry, couldn't resist. it doesn't sound normal to me but maybe someone else has experienced this and will chime in.

not bad... after a quick google... i see it is happening on a few ford models... common thread seems to be grounding or buggered up dimmer switch for the dash lights.. gonna go see the dealer today.
