1156 LED from Ebay

Can someone post up a link to a reliable E-bay seller for these LED bulbs that isn't in China and doesn't charge $25 to ship two bulbs from the US ??

I'm looking to bump up the 1156's that are in the headlights on my garden tractor.

Don't need to spend gobs of money, but there's a million of them on E-bay and it's tough to judge what's decent.

Could have started a new thread, but it's not really a new topic, and does seem relevant.

Anything's gotta be an improvement over the incandescent 1156's.

couple ones I'd be considering.

stock lumens is 420 from the 1156 incandescent. alot of the led bulbs on ebay actually have less output 300-400 output. ( $10-20 with free shipping from Overseas)

SMD5050 is a tri-chip led. has 4X the output of a SMD3520.
SMD5630 is 1.5X the brightness of the SMD5050

Then there is reflector angle of the halogen, as the led has to try and 360degree the light. so there is alot of light loss due to improper optics. so you want something brighter to compensate.
hence my pricer recommendations.

more output.
another problem is brighter, more heat. so I hope that isn't going to be a concern.

Ultimately, replacing with lights with a led lamp.
What size is the 1156 housing? is it generic? 4x6? 5" round? etc.

1156 is a single post, single filament bulb used most commonly in the front marker lights on GM's.

I know the number well due to my previous history with my old '77 Nova and '84 Silverado, and I was surprised a bit to see it used in the Deere.

Heat isn't really an issue, much like the LED upgrade I was looking at for the cab lights, it's only really for blowing snow at night, so they won't be on for long

Not to mention they sit right next to the muffler.lol

Thanks for the recommendations Travis, they're pricey alright, a little more than I was looking to spend, but the $28 pair is worth considering.

New LED Back-up Bulbs

The top 2 will be def brighter. They are the ones I would weary about heat. But the are estimated to be 900lumens each.

Other option is replacing the lamp with an led sealed unit.
What type of housing is on the tractor?

Just your basic plastic housing with a twist socket.

Your housings look pretty yellowed from an old thread.

Saw this on another forum. But you may need new housings to go with it.

Yellowed maybe, after all, they're 13 years old, so no shame for that.

Interesting link though, another option worth checking out, thanks Travis, you always got your finger on the pulse.

I'm actually going to take a closer look at that one Ebay seller whose based in North York, at least they're Canadian and some of their stuff has free shipping.
