Its not illegal if you don't get caught...

I had this done to my 00' F150 and it came in handy. Never had any troubles with the Police but as long as you remember to switch off your highbeams for oncoming traffic you should be fine.

Most police in rural areas wish they had better lights, I know a couple officers that have wrote of cruisers thanks to moose and deer... so I don't think they would bother you to much, just remember to turn them down for the poor oncoming traffic

IMO, "foglights" should come on only with highbeams. Lowbeams or DRLs (depending the type) should be the only lights on if you're not running highbeams..

There's not an officer out there who would take them time out of their day to bother you about your foglights being on with your highbeams unless you refuse to dim them when following him or are oncoming. LR
