Just heard a radio commercial for a Dodge 1500 diesel. 420ld/ft is nice, same as the Ecoboost. The 240hp is less than impressive though. If you go to there site it attacks the Eco's MPG but it actually only outperforms the 3.7L V6 when it comes to towing.
an apprentice I work with just took delivery of one(dodge) that's why I brought it up... I love my 1ton but would pick up a halfton diesel in a heart beat.
The one thing I didn't like about the dodge was it was a 4x4 and it didn't look like it and sat lower then a 2wd truck
if that 8 speed trans were built by cryco it'd probably be pretty good but when you use outside suppliers ya get what ya get
I drove a 2011 dodge truck a couple of summers back - hemi 4x4 drove nice , about as nice as my 01 f150 2x but .. eh , pass
thin cheep feeling doors - reminded me of omni doors and it had the same power window & a/c switches as the chevy impalla I'd driven the summer before except they were a little bigger - year old truck and the tailgate rattled like hell too
when the auto makers start useing all the same stuff from the same suppliers I have to wonder what's the point of brand differences ?
