fuel economy?

I won't be commuting to work much longer so I decide to check on Barney's mpg capabilities:
last week, filled and refilled at the same pump on my way to work mon, then on my way home on thurs nite. from winterbourne to wroxeter and back for 4 days, no side trips and same route. mostly Hwy 86 .
stock performance shifted like crap lazy feeling, didn't pass more than once all my way to work. 23.5 mpg ,

same trip this week, same fuel fill and refill. this time with my superchip tuner on "tow safe" . shifted awesome, passed many cars and fun to pass with, definitely feels like more power even though it might just be shift improvements. 24.3 mpg ,

very cool

on the weekend I towed trailer to Stratford, brought home a 92 explorer parts vehicle, then made a hard trip to Scarborough on the 401, and home back roads . filled same location and averaged 19.5 mpg. with superchip tow safe.

this vehicle just went over 445,000 km today. I don't think it has ever run better. I'm probably going to part it out and use the drivetrain in something else, the body is beat and the interior is trashed.

BUILT FORD TOUGH

too bad the V6 powerstroke wasn't based on the 7.3 instead of the 6.0!!!!!!!!!!
would make one hell of a nice engine for a new F150?????

That is impressive. Too bad the body and interior is gone.

well I ran the 5.8 E4OD E150 Chateau back and forth to work for a week and averaged 19.0mpg. it needs some harder tires and not so wide but I'm thinking anything above 20mpg with it will be pretty good. I've been spoiled by diesel fuel economy lately

have my eye on another E150 same colours in Scarborough, if the seller will go below 1000, I might go have a look............................... it would be a donor body for Barney's diesel chassis!

cheers James
