ABS light

When I hit the brakes and turn left, the brake pedal makes a buzzing feel and the abs light comes on. It goes out after a bit. A mechanic told me I had a sensor or a wheel bearing going. Is this true? How do I determine which bearing or sensor. Do I need a shop with a code reader? I have done a search on changing wheel bearings and cant find anything. My truck is a new to me 2005 f250, 6l diesel.

yes get it scanned. it will help pin-point where the problem is and go from there. yes it can be either a bearing going or sensor....
