Got bored and did some rooting around to see that I could find on the 2013 Raptor.
Looks like not much is new..... new colour, HID's and new wheels equipped to be upgraded to available bead lockers from Ford Racing.
Let me cut and paste a quick quote and save me some typing......
Terrain is a sandy beige hue with a flat finish. It's not matte, but this paint certainly isn't reflective by modern standards. In fact, it's quite reminiscent of those wonderful old lacquer finishes from the '30s and '40s. (We can imagine a Ford Model A Business Coupe coming in the same color.) That's not a pejorative, as the SVT Raptor looks great in this decidedly industrial beige tone. Something about the Raptor's outlandish looks just works with the understated color.
We've also netted some more details about the new beadlock-capable wheels. Underneath those 12-bolt cosmetic trim rings are 24 holes, already tapped for the Ford Racing beadlock ring. Owners just have to buy the beadlock kit from their dealer to convert them. The wheels themselves are forged aluminum and officials tell us this convertible system is an industry first which it aims to patent.
Pics won't copy over for whatever reason, and I hate posting a thread with no pics, but here's the link.....
My two cents ? At random........
The bead lockers are interesting, and the new style of wheel is better than 2012's offering.
The almost matte finish of the new colour is interesting, but "Terrain" wouldn't be a choice I'd personally make.
The bed graphics are changed up from the previous "digital dirt" offering , but graphics are still not a choice I would make for mine.
HID's...meh. Like the styling of the 2011's better, but quality of light could possibly win me over.
Not really much new and exciting here IMO.....I'm disappointed there hasn't been any sort of upgrade in horsepower.
Put the 650 hp supercharged 5.8L they're shovelling in the GT500 into a Raptor off the showroom floor and I'll hand you the keys to my trade-in so fast your head will spin.
Hell, I'd even entertain the thought if they offered up a 6.2L supercharged in the 500hp range. lol
Anyway, I know the Raptor has a lot of detractors out there, some flat out don't like them, others think that with 11,000 or so total production for a single year they're too common, but that's what makes this hobby great and WTF, any truck conversation is good conversation !!
Got to try and get some pics to post up, clicking on links sucks.
