First Longer Trip in the Raptor

I spend the weekend at a buddies place in Yarker (North of Kingston). This was my first longer highway trip in the new Raptor and I was curious how it was going to be on gas compared the 5.4 Raptor I had. On the way out I averaged 15.6 L per 100. Not great but I expected better. On the way home today I had a very strong headwind the whole drive home and only manage 17.7 L per 100. Pretty terrible

The 2010 Raptor with the 5.4 got 13-14 L per 100 by comparison.

This is by no means a complaint about Mileage. I bought this Truck knowing it was going to cost $$$$ to run

Hang in there Martin....I average 15.5L/100km combined city and highway since I've owned it, and regularly run less than 13.0 pure highway.

Amazing how head winds or tail winds can effect the readings though.

Heading towards Goderich on 21 one time I was amazed to see 11.5L/100 km, no word of a lie.

Screw the gas mileage, keep pumping the 91 to it, you'll spend more at Tim Horton's in a year than you'd save on gas pumping regular into an Ecoboost, and you'll enjoy the ride a lot more.

Worth every cent.

my 5.0L jumps around when the temps are up and down and def winds being a factor.

anywhere between mid 10s in summer to couple tanks @ 14 this past winter.

I have averaged in the high 11s L/100 km with the 6.7 Diesel and it only has 15K km on it so far. Dealer indicates it is just getting broken it by 20K. So far I am very pleased. The happiness meter has a direct opposed linkage to consumption meter!

My 2010 with the 4.6 was getting better mileage with out the muffler on it, now I have a muffler on the truck again the meter is showing me 16 L / 100 km before with no muffler I was reading 12 L / 100 km and thats running reg 89 octane gas

I wouldn't sweat it too much Martin, you're only get marginally worse mileage than I get with my Ranger.

Down the big hill before the hwy#89 cut-off on the 400 south bound I got it down below 7L/100

I drive back and forth from Richmond Hill to Barrie at least twice a week and commute to downtown TO in my Raptor and I average 16L/100 most of the time.

When I drive it hard more like 40L/100+ but it's a Raptor and it begs to be driven hard.

I had a Sport Trac Adrenaline with the 4.7L V8 previously and the mileage isn't that much different, and the Raptor gets my Adrenaline going far more than the aforementioned Sport Trac

Agreed

If Princess Auto were a real girl, I'd ask her to marry me.
