Question Some questions...alternator& Battery replaced...sometimes will not start.

I have to admit, this is really frustrating me...

I have replaced the alternator and have put in a new battery, and replaced the battery a second time under warranty..

This am the truck wouldn't start...It did start after a boost...but I think it should start every time with a new battery and alternator...

I have tested the alternator and I get the charge- 14.5 to the battery.

Any Ideas as to what may be causing the problem...

Try cleaning all ground connections and the connections to starter, solenoid.

Such is life. Just passing through.

Glad to hear you found it. When you're chasing ghosts start with the easy stuff first. Not as hard on the wallet!

Just an FYI an old Taurus i had once did the above and it turned out to be a loose and corroded connections on the ignition switch in the steering column. Lots of power to battery etc. just wouldn't start sometimes.

My 2 cents

I'm not surprised, mine did the same thing, just a loud snap when I tried to start it one day. The whole bolt assembly where the battery cable connects to the starter corroded and just fell off.

turns out it was the solenoid( on the fire wall) and the corrosion... since the changes no issues...
