lower rad support

I took my 2001 F150 in for a safety and the dealer tells me the lower rad support needs replacing. I asked if this was a warranty issue and he replied there was a problem with early f150s where the road salt would sit in the lower support and rots it out then the rad drops out.

Sounds like this isn't an easy job.

Can't say I have heard of this before.
Anyone here have this problem? and did Ford cover it?

Happens to ALL pre97 F150's and you have to replaced the whole rad support it's a 1 pieced item.

As for later years I'm not sure. No it's not a warranty item, You will also have to replace all bolts, shims, bushings and nuts. Cross Canada and Napa can get you the support. But for the other hardware it's either the stealership or LMC Truck
