window solenoid

Does anyone have any experience with the power windows on a 2001 F150? The passenger side window will go down but not up. I have determined that it is not a switch issue or a loose wire issue.
It would be nice if it was possible to replace the solenoid on the window motor but I highly doubt it.

Are you possitive that it is not the switch. I had a similar issue with both my 2002 Mustang and my 2004 F150. The contacts inside the rocker switch both had a thin layer of carbon from repeated use that was preventing contact. I used a thin finger nail file to slip between the contact and repeatedly drug it through the contact cleaning both at once. Fixed the problem right up and the repair is really cheap.

You do have to carefully take the switch house apart but not the switch guts themselves unless there is no room on your year to get at the contacts. Both of my fixes had enough room to allow me to clean the contacts without fully taking them apart.

Yes, I am positive. I have checked both switches and they are working fine. I have narrowed it down to the solenoid on the motor. I figure that I have to replace the whole thing as it seems to come as an assembly .. or so it looks like on the LMC website. I just hope that I can get one from Ford.

According to wiring diagrams...there is an electronic module in the central junction box that could be your issue. Also, the one touch down relay could be the issue also located in the central junction box. Did you check the right side switch? on the passenger door?
