exhaust seems louder since extreame cold started

not really important , but wondering if anyone else has had this experiance?

flowmaster duel outlet with duel tail pipes (on 5.4)

with the original exhaust the truck left a nice white puffy vapor trail behind it on cold days
I swaped the flowmaster ex on and discovered the o-e muffler had a lot of water in it - thus the source for the vapor trail
-swaped the flowmater ex on and that stoped - last winter but this year it's leaveing vapor trails behind again

only thing I can think of is there must be some ice in the muffler that's affecting it's abelity to muffle sound
??

increased sound volume is comeing from the tail pipes - it's not leaking anywhere along the system

power seems slow to come to - almost like driveing with the stock tune vs the edge level 3 it runs all the time also

question #2
haveing a non stock tune I know , or have heard I'll have to set it back to stock for E testing .. but I've heard I need to do that long enough before the test that the re call won't cause it to fail by haveing been done to close to the test date
so , how long before the E test should I set it back to stock is the question I suppose

My factory exhaust was a lot louder with the cold weather...had an almost diesel note to it.

Sound travels more efficiently through cold air, so you may just be hearing it louder. If that makes sense.

ya that makes sence
I live across the road from the Rouge Valley - there's no houses across the street , just valley

in winter the train that runs along the opposite side of the valley is much louder
