moonroof seal

Anyone know a good place to pickup a moonroof seal. The truck I bought the seal looks a lil worn on the outside.

If it's not leaking I'd be tempted not to screw with it.

My fallback is always try OEM, but I'm sure any of the glass chains like Apple Auto Glass would have them.

Depends whether you're going to do it yourself, or have it done by a shop.

Last two times I had a windshield replaced, I bought OEM, and the dealer farmed out the job to the local Go Glass shop, moonroof might be no different.

What year is your truck? 2003?

If so the OEM seal is $178 List. If it isn't leaking I would leave it.

Had a lil water after a car wash. The outside looks a lil hard. I may try some spray silicone first, just to soften it up.
I did phone the dealership, ya 178$. Thought someone know of a better price spot.

Jeez, anything less than a couple of hundred bucks from the Ford parts department is a win.

I've seen some really wonky pricing on Ford's stuff, but most times it's pretty reasonable.

O Ya. I stopped buy there to get a replacement trailer plug. 75$ for the same thing at CTC 19$. I may just order the seal from Fords. The one on it like I said is a lil sun screwed. So it should seal better. I rather spend 178$ that more on a new head liner.
Cannot wait itll summer, to clean/wax/engine clean the new truck complete. Wish Ford had made the Syleside Fiberglass too.

Don't know if you took your Ford trailer plug apart but they are put together and sealed better than anything else I have seen out there. I replaced mine last summer with a Reese from Canadian Tire but not near as well made.

Such is life. Just passing through.

If thats true, thanks. But this one at the dealer was in a Reese box. I picked up a Pollak one, the same on some new F150s
