I wasn't trying to fix this but the solution seems simple enough
the fall before last , I bought a street scene smooth cowel top & installed it
I noted last summer the stink from my a/c was almost gone and useing the a/c for the first real use of the year yesterday I noted the stink was completely gone (yippie)
though I'll have to add that I have to turn the heat or a/c off now while waiting at a drive through as now that the truck breaths through the bodywork it sucks exhaust fumes from the car I'm waiting behind into the cab
but that fix is simple I just turn the heat or a/c off while I'm waiting in line
white truck looks a hell of a lot better too without the black plastic at the bottom of the windshield
If your in max a/c, it shouldn't suck anything in from outside.

yeah , that spray they use is what gave me headaches - my allergies didn't like it much either
lessee if I can doah pic ..
EDIT yippie pics work .. I like my white cowl top so much more and it's still the off colour white gel coat not paint
viewed from the side the top back corners of the fenders no longer look like they've been cut off to start a big black pit below the windshield
oh and that nasty gap between the back tire and the top of the wheel opening is gone too
after 3 years I finally got a new box of roundtuits
so I used one of em to finish lowering the truck late last summer
eh , no on second thought THAT took a couple of them new roundtuits "cause it was a to part job
one part FAIL.. one part thank god that's done
the one part fail ..the first part obviously , that was all about a day spent drilling out spring anger rivets and spring shackles .. until I got to the last corner - the driver's front spring hanger
stuck spring eye bolt - no getting it out with the swing I had at it laying on a garage floor
sooooo , I swap the other spring hanger back to stock along with the shackles thankfully I hadn't got to doing the shocks yet
but , then again at the driver's side front spring hanger , when I went to insert the bolt where I'd drilled out two of the rivets , well donja know I lifted the brake line ever so slightly to clear the bolt coming through and the nut that was to go behind it
yep , got it all bolted up , sat down to have a smoke with my ass on the seat , feet on the running board and door wide open
sigh what a freeking relief to be done
sigh .... drip .. drip .. drip.. drip
