Hi...im new at this forum and hope some one can help me with my truck problem..i have a 98 f150 4x4 6 cylinder manual transmission and the clutch is soft when pushing it down and also I cannot put it in gear..i was told that the slave cylinder could have air in it and needs to be bled..is there a way to bleed the system to get the air out. all answers greatly appreciated.

Yes, the bleed screw is just above the hydraulic line to the drivers side of the bell housing.

sorry for reopening this thread.. I just got it out of the bush finally and went under the truck, I do not see a bleed screw I do see a drain plug and a fill plug and I believe a rubber boot I think that's where you adjust or measure clutch.am I missing something here.

thanks

That's where the bleed screw should be. Unless your slave cylinder is external. Do you have a shift fork coming out of the rubber boot?
