make sure to have it preinspected as these were known for rh headgasket leaking oil at rear.

a moments silence for the shelbyx,i hope her new owner enjoys as much.

make sure all the TSB's are caught up too. cruise control etc...but like shelby said , that should be all done in the pre-insp.

technical service bulletins. and check for any recalls as well. one problem with the 97-03's are spark plugs that blow out of the cylinder. only with the v8's. it's not that common tho. i had a 97 f150 supercab 4x4 with the 4.6 and traded it off at 170,000 km's. was a good truck. other than regular maintenance, had 2 Balljoints go. not bad.

Great!
I just bought mine as well
196,000 Ks
My bud had owned it since 99 .
really no problems to speak of .
Still had the original plugs in it .
I have replaced them and the plug wires ( 6 & 3 were shorting out )
And of course the gas tank will be replaced .

During that time my Bud owned it the truck was trouble free for him.
Gas mileage he told me was around 23-25 mpg on a tour to the East coast .
Crap that's better than my Old 92 Caprice Classic .
