'03 4.6 temp. sensor repair

My sensor has given out on me, I've located it on the inside of the left head. However, outside of a custom tool, I see no easy way to remove it.

Has anyone replace this sensor, and if you have, how'd you do it?

it should un thread using a open end wrench. put some teflon tape on the new one when you go to put it back in.

It's on such an angle and with the harness clamp on the far side of the sensor, putting a wrench in there seems quite tight. If I could get the harness off, then an open end wrench would/could be possible, but the clamp/catch is on the far side of the sensor and even tougher to get at.

on the inside of the left headlight... if so not sure if its what you mean but pull the 2 tabs on the top of the headlight and it comes out as a complete unit might give you more acces....
