2011 3.5 Ecoboost owners .. post up

Ok looking for owners of the 2011 3.5 Ecoboost engine ..

Was interested in knowing the fuel economy numbers and does Ford want you to run synethic oils only due to the twin turbo?

Any other pros or cons bout that engine ?

Looking into trading my 09 in ..

Hey, I have a 2011 crew XTR 4x4 with the ecoboost. I only have ~1200 km so fuel economy not great. At 90km I get ~10-11l/100km and at 120km I get 13.5-14.5l/100km. Seems pretty powerful but want to put more miles on it before I really find out how much.

I also have the 20" wheels that probably do not help mileage. For oil does not have to be synthetic as long as it complies to Ford WSS- M2C929-A spec. They also recommend 5w30 vs 5w20.

If you're really getting that you're doing better than I am. 110 km would be 15-16l/100, 120 closer to 20l/100...I've got 3.73's though which I believe you can't get with those 20's. Will keep checking and posting for those interested.
Power is amazing. nothing short of it. Wish I'd driven a 5.0...but I was smitten and it was the truck I wanted (as in all the right options 'cept it don't have the towing mirrors) on the lot so I didn't wait to see if someone else wanted it.

Yes you can get the 3.73 with the 20s
Any way, that's what I have on my 2011 FX4 EB!!

As for the mileage, I get about 9l/100km at 90, around 12l/100km at 100 and around 15-15.5l/100km at 120. I tried a 5.0 for a day, and that engine belongs in a Mustang or in my boat...! Not in the F150, IMO, I say again IMO!!! It downshifted where mine did not, and the power was not as smooth as in the EB. It came on abruptly, unlike in the Mustang. Yeah, I got to try that one as well, 'cause the didn't order the accessories when I ordered the 1000$ worth of it. So they had to make up for it! LoL
