Tow Capacity

Hi all,

New member with a new truck....don't let the screen name fool you, i love the ford truck!

Have a quick question - i have the 2011 F150 XLT super crew with 5.5ft bed,5.0L engine, 3:73 limited slip rearend - what would you say my tow capacity is? I have looked online at the ford website and the way they have the columns created it isn't too clear (there is a dash / line in the column accross from the specs of my truck).

My truck came with the integrated trailer brake and class four heavy duty hitch. I am assuming my truck is in the 9300 lb tow rating, not the 7700lb rating.

Can anyone help me figure this out. Much appreciated.

FF

It should be in your owners manual. 9300 pounds sounds about right thought. FWIW you'll never be able to hit that rating without exceeding one of the other weight ratings on the truck. Welcome to the boards!!

The chart looks like 9300 lbs the way I read it.

Welcome to Ford Tough!

7700lbs sounds like the GVWR of the truck. Most of the new 150's, well equipped are in the 10K range but honestly, for anything more than a local short distance pull, I can't imagine more than about 8K on any 1/2 ton truck but hey, that's just me. I hate the "tail wagging the dog syndrome" that makes certain body parts contract.
