2010 rear window defroster problem

Hi all,

I recently took in my 2010 lariat to the dealer with the problem that the rear windo defroster no functioning...

To my dismay they said it would cost me just under $900.00 to replace the window due to the conductive material was worn away by me apparently.

I have never put anything on my window and the places that the material is worn away is so far out of the reach of my kids that sit in the back. The dealership says otherwise that it had to be me...

The dealership I went to is not my 1st choice but is close to my house. Anyone else have any issues like this?

Thanks

Garage
No issues, but sounds like you need a second opinion.

Don't rule out getting it fixed. There are repair kits available if it is not too damaged. Talk to an independent garage owner first.

Go to another dealer some of them are crooks or just have dumb people working there trying to save the place money thinking they will get a promotion by doing a good job but fail to realize they will never go anywhere but out the door super hero's I call them

I ended up going to another dealer ( Bolton) and they were more than happy to get it fixed for me. I will gladly drive the extra distance to deal with them going forward. It's unfortunate that others automatically play the blame game.

Good to hear that you were able to resolve your defroster issue through another dealer.
Sounds like you need to contact Ford Customer Service Headquarters regarding your local dealers original response to your problem.
I know that I would be.
