soon to be owner

hey everyone! i am going to get a truck next summer (belated birthday present to myself) and i wanted some input on things.
i dont need anything fancy (although i want the fx4 badly, just have a sh!tty job and can't afford at this time) so i was thinking a scab xlt 6.5" box with an added offroad package and fog lights. once i bring it home i wanted to do some mods to it. dont really need a lift so i was leaning towards a 2" or 2.5" levelling and possibly 33" or 35" duratracs and undecided on wheels. my buddy has a 2011 Jeep and i know he is able to use parts from 07,08,09,10 because its all the same. are fords able to do that as well or do i have to buy parts of the same year?

I'm assuming you're talking about buying a new truck.

All F150's from 2004 to 2012 share the same bolt pattern for the wheels of 6x135mm.

For a leveling kit it depends on the make, most are for 04-08 and then 09+. Some say they fit 04-current.

And the only engine parts that would work on a 2011/2012 F150 are from those years due to the engine change in 2011.

If you decide to change the head lights or tail lights you need them from the 09 and up year, as Herbz stated the bolt pattern on the f150 is the same from 04 up, if you do a 2/12 " level make sure you go with a good offset rim with a 35 " tire cause you will get rub and you will have to trim the plastic valance under the bumper cause the tire will catch it and make your whole front bumper vibrate.
