New 5.0.. Low oil?

Seen some hype about the 5.0 having low oil.

Some i suspect is from the pvc other i suspect is engine not broke in yet..

Thought i would check this afternoon while i was out working on the truck..
And sure enough.. Oil is below the lower full dot..
Truck has 4200kms on it now..

Anyone else check their oil?

I rarely check mine on the 08..usually when i think it's service time, it gets checked..actually don't go thru much between changes. I never have to add any and i change mine around every 7500 km's.

Just guessing here, but was the oil level low right from day one, or has that happened over the course of the last 4200 km?

Not familiar with the problem really, but just speculating.

Heh heh heh.....maybe it's a new cost cutting measure at Ford. Ship out every new truck with 500ml less oil from full.....that's a lot of oil saved.

Mine is still on the full mark. Do you think is is burning it or not topped off from the dealer?

To be honest. Could be either. from the thread ive seen on the catch can.. Oil being pulled up by the pvc, to ford saving money.. To the rings not fully sealed (if this was the case you would think ford would make sure the oil was full)..

Ill be topping it up and watching it or the next little while..
