Great deals on Ford ESP or FMPP

To anyone in Canada considering buying and Ford ESP or FMPP check out this link

http://www.f150forum.com/f38/februar...n-only-135829/

This is a Canadian dealer who is selling Ford ESP and FMPP at slightly over dealer cost for the month of February. I bought an ESP for almost half the price my local dealer wanted. This dealer is also located in an area with no provincial sales tax so you only pay 5% GST (even more savings). I'm not looking to get into the debate over whether ESP's are worth the money or not, just wanted to share a great deal with other owners and forum members who might be interested in a Ford ESP or FMPP.

Holy spam post on that other forum.

You're right....there is no debate on whether Extended Service Plans are worth the cash.

Because they're not.

Strictly my opinion and does not represent the opinions of ford tough.ca, it's owners. or affiliates.

I'll go so far as to say he doesn't give a shit about helping out other members, he's only interested in padding his paycheque with commission dollars.

Again....my opinion.

No doubt he's trying to make money...can't blame him.

I did actually go with the ESP...this was a first for me as I NEVER get extended warranties. But what sold me on the deal was the extras they offered that actually made it worth it. For $2600 (if memory serves me correctly), I got an extra 3 years of warranty for 6 years bumper-to-bumper...I got free oil changes for the 6 years, I got free wiper replacements, free brakes, free suspension replacement, and some other small things. So basically, I pre-paid for the parts and labour of these things ahead of time, and got a free 3 year comprehensive warranty.

For my wife's HHR, GM wanted $2800 for the same duration of coverage, but offered no freebies...I declined on this and berated them for not even coming close to offering what their competitors had. The guy got quite mad at me for this...didn't care. :D

I certainly don't begrudge anyone spending the cash for peace of mind.

Personal opinion and choice of dollars spent on mods are all part of this great hobby.

By no means was I trying to suggest this dealer isn't making money on the ESP's, but I can tell you he is making a lot less than any dealer I visited. For me I ended up paying $0.49 a day ($1225 taxes in) for a 7 year premium care ESP on my 09 FX4. Given that I have already had a few glitches with my reverse sensors and a couple of door ajar warning sensors it made sense for me, especially at that price. My local dealers wanted $2375 taxes in for the same coverage, a price which I don't think anyone could justify.
