Time for a new truck:)

Hello All,

It's been a while since I've trolled these boards but its time to get back in the saddle of a new truck. My original plan was to get a SVT SuperCrew but the 6.2L with the 4.10 combo is going to a bit of a gas hog for the 35,000kms I put on every year.

I'm thinking about getting a FX4 crew with a 5.0L with all the options in dark grey or a 5.0L Platinum crew. I'm planning on doing a level with 33's once I take ownership. What should I get?

either way I personally would do 3.55 if it's a highway queen. it will help out a little on the mpg. with that many kms it can help.

Pfft...gas mileage. Jesus wept.

If you don't want the 6.2L Raptor Supercrew with the factory 4.10's, the FX4 Supercrew loaded up would be a great second choice.

I'm not sure how much cash you'll save in gas ( cough cough F$%@ all cough cough) with the 5.0 over the 6.2 ......

I'd go with the FX4 over the Platinum though...too much bling bling on the Platinum IMO.

I'd go with the FX4 also even tho the Platinum is a nice looking truck just to much bling for me. Seems everyone wants to own a truck but always bitch about gas you never ever heard anyone bitch back in a day when gas was .35 / litre and drove gas hogs just my 3.5 cents worth

I could care less about the gas part since I have a company gas card, I just don't want to be the guy with the highest gas bill at the end of the month. I can get A plan on the FX4 and Platinum but have to pay list on the Raptor..

What about the Ecoboost as an option.

I'm hearing it pulls harder and is quicker than the 6.2L on all of the truck review sites.

All it's missing is the gutteral V8 sound.

Don't know what you do for a living but is a full size truck a must? If not what about a Ranger?

Its not a must, its a want. I can afford it so why not! I have ATV's etc that I haul around during the summer but 95% of the time I use it to commute.

I've driven the EcoBoost but still prefer an eight under the hood. Maybe I shouldn't rule out the Raptor yet. I'll have to go and check them all out soon..
