Sony Stereo System

Hi I ordered my new Lariat with the upgraded Sony stereo (not Nav). Does anybody know if it comes with a subwoofer under the backseat? I hope its worth the extra $390 over the premium stereo already in the truck. Thanks guys

I only see the sub-woofer referenced with the Nav system....my guess is all you're getting for the $390 is upgraded Sony speakers, but I could be wrong.

So there's a difference between the stereo's in the Lariat and FX4?, Im not sure what you mean when you say "premium stereo already in it" Cause' the stereo that came in mine without the sony system was a giant TURD. worst sounding stereo I have ever heard on a factory vehicle, ( let alone a 45 plus thousand one) Just as a reference the stereo in my mazda 3 blew my stock ford F150 stereo out of the water. ????

If the word "Sony" is on it, keep your expectations nice and low. That way you won't be disappointed when you hear it......

Ford has never been known for decent audio systems. IMO, save the 400 and but a decent aftermarket in it.

Oopsy....little too late for that if the order's already in. lol

Harsh reviews of the base system.

I've got the Sony upgrade and the Nav, and I'm pretty happy with it, so apparently my expectations are low enough to be satisfied.

Doesn't matter how good the factory stuff is, there will always be opinions it could be better.

Judge for yourself when you take delivery and then see if it was money well spent.

Then again, maybe you could have used that $400 and put it towards your gas bill.

i have no idea what sony quality is now. but years ago it was garbage.

That being said if i were to buy a new truck i would get the premium package also. just to not have to deal with trying to get a new deck installed in a brand new vehicle. 400$ nothing on top of the already expensive purchase

Really? Its the Internet take it easy.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have to agree with BlairTruck. It has to be better then the stock system and its worth the pain in the ass in changing it out in a brand new truck.
