superchips cortex

Well, picked up the tuner from travis, great guy and couldn't pass up a great deal. Installed the K&N CAI Tune this morning, and WOW. Truck runs how it's supposed to !!!. Have to say the power difference is very noticeable, but the biggest thing is the shifts. They were sloppy as hell before, almost a pause between gears. Couldn't imagine towing a large trailer like that. The tuner has totally fixed that. Shifts are fast and firm, and puts a smile on my face..lo Thanks again travis!

So whats the difference between the cortex & flashpaq ?

I have the flash and happy with it somewhat, started with the 87 oct. tune and could feel the power change.

I use the tow tune for towing 27' camper trailer, again can feel the extra power over stock.

I now run the 91 oct. tune, there mite be a small amount of diff over the 87 but can't really tell.

I can say I LOVE the power gain the tuner gives, the truck just shakes when I stand on it, and with that said NO I don't get mpg savings that they say you will get. next year I will put a cai on and see if that helps !!

Cortex does more vehicles. This particular unit does ford Gas and diesel. Also more rugged. Has an rubber condom built right on it.

Comes with a 2yr warranty vs the 1 yr for the regular flashpak .

But the tunes are the same.

Keith when you do the c.a.i you will want to order a tune that is for the brand of the c.a.i or you won't get any performance from the tuner, I have a K&N c.a.i but I don't have the tune for it truck runs great but would most likely run better with the K&N tune
