09' rear springs

Just a question on rear springs. My 09' screw short box has 4 springs. 3 long and one short. I was looking at a 2012 in a parking lot. Same truck, color, etc. It only had 3 long springs. My truck seemed to sit a little higher on the rear but about same in front. What would be the difference.

You can put more weight in yours without sag or bottoming out. The shorter spring at the bottom is a stiffener spring

Its a screw up from Factory, you should only have 3 springs !!!

Or maybe because you have tow package on your truck.

I have the tow package but also the truck I was looking at had tow package but no factory controller. Wonder if when you get tow package with controller you get 4 springs.

Controller is an option offered.

When I ordered my truck, I ordered it with tow package but not with controller. The wire hook-up was under steering coloum so all I had to do was plug the controller in a few months later.

My 09' had the factory installer already in. Just thought it was odd about the springs.

Sounds like someone might have added it along the way. Factory is only 3 springs.

The Dealership that I picked up this truck also had a 09' f150 with tow max, mine is normal tow package. That tow max had 4 springs like mine.
