wait till you get a tuner to go along with your intake... These tucks are so "de-tuned" I guess you could say, (I can imagine for towing etc) Once you get a good tune on It's a huge difference. The Biggest change I noticed was the shift's. Un-beleivable.

I have the Superchips Cortex, Witch I bought from another member. I installed the K&N CAI Tune with it. I Have nothing to compare it to ( Truck wise) , but it was cheap, very easy to use and makes a hell of a difference over stock. All that I wanted. The 87 performance tune gave me gobs more power and amazingly quick shifts ( stock was soooo sloppy, now it just sifts like lightning) ( on the butt dyno) and the mileage xs gave me 2.5-3mpg better on the highway, with still a dramatic improvement over stock.

You should look at the Ecoboost, I've heard the numbers are even better than what you're getting.

If you are going to buy a tuner to go with your intake I'd recommend getting something custom done up with an SCT or Gryphon (Custom Edge), you'll get the best bang for your buck there.

I have had the K&N intake for my 5.0 and abosolutely LOVE it! a few things to note. I have calculated and documented every fillup and average fuel consumption since NEW and I can see a relatively serious drop in L/100k. roughly around 1.5-2 L/100km (if i can stay off the pedal) which leads me to the second thing- the sound is fantastic and worth the purchase in my opinion.
