Tailgate Assist

All I can say is do it...best mod ever! I had this on my Silverado and finally got around to doing it with the F150!

http://www.deezee.com/products/32813...te_Assist.html

Takes about 20 minutes to do the install, just following the instructions.

These are awesome!
I had one on my 05 & 06 trucks.

Nice and easy it sets the tailgate down!

Doesn't compare. The factory one still allows the tailgate to slam. not as hard as the 04-08, but still a * SLAM *
Plus the spring thats in the factory taillgate, ive heard them snapping too. not nice.

I don't remember seeing the tailgate assist as an option...figured maybe it was only on the higher models.

My neighbour has a lower end model Tundra, and his came with the tailgate assist built in...works well.

It's built in the tailgates.
It's a torsion/spring bar. It twists as you lower the tailgate.

Mine definately has no tailgate assist...if it does, it's been broken since day one. I was disappointed it didn't.

The assist from the factory just seems to lighten up the gate when you open it . It will still drop and bang if you let it go . The EZ Down takes care of that .

Haha...nice...almost wonder why Ford bothers if they're only going to implement half a solution.
